Symposium Verslaving en comorbiditeit 2026

  • di 3 november 2026, 09:00 – 16:00
De Zalen van Zeven, Utrecht

This symposium by Medilex shows how addiction develops and how it co-occurs with depression, anxiety, ADHD, or autism. Doctors, psychologists, and nurses will learn to recognize risk behavior and relapse earlier and to guide clients in a multidisciplinary way. Accredited for five points by, among others, ABAN, VSR, V&VN, NIP/NVO, and Registerplein.

From substance use to addiction

Addiction often develops gradually, in young people who are experimenting and in older people who have been using pain medication for a long time. In the morning programme, you will hear the latest insights into the development of addiction, what happens in the brain, and what the trends are in substance use.

Dual diagnosis and the client’s story

A nurse practitioner discusses the interaction between psychiatry and substance use and what this means for treatment. An expert by experience shares which attitude from healthcare providers really helps. Afterwards, a healthcare psychologist (GZ-psycholoog) will discuss pain, opiates, and safer alternatives.

In-depth sessions per target group

In the afternoon, you can choose a practical session on young people and substance use, addiction in autism, or older people with multiple conditions and substance use. The symposium is intended for doctors and medical specialists, psychologists, orthopedagogues, nurse practitioners, and nurses. You will earn five credits from, among others, ABAN/KNMG, FGzPt, NIP/NVO, VSR, Registerplein, and the Kwaliteitsregister V&VN.
