Which cities are the leading conference destinations? The US remained at the top of the global rankings in 2025. Japan climbed to sixth place globally, whilst Brazil also showed a striking rise: the country now reached thirteenth place, surpassing the number of meetings held prior to 2020, which points to Latin America’s growing international standing. The Netherlands is also performing excellently on the global conference map. The Netherlands ranks 9th in the ICCA GlobeWatch: Business Analytics – Country & City Rankings 2025.
Among conference cities, Lisbon, Paris and Barcelona top the 2025 rankings. Vienna, Singapore, Prague, Copenhagen, London, Seoul and Tokyo complete the top 10. These are cities with excellent conference infrastructure, international accessibility and an attractive profile as knowledge hubs.
Dutch conference cities are collectively climbing towards the global top 10. Amsterdam and Rotterdam lead the list of Dutch conference cities. According to the most recent ICCA ranking for 2025, Utrecht is among the top three conference cities in the Netherlands and ranks 47th in Europe, having hosted 33 ICCA-accredited conferences. The Hague, Leiden and Maastricht also feature in the international rankings and attract many professionals to conference venues in their cities every year.
