The Pan African AI & Innovation Summit (PAAIS) is an annual two-day AI conference in Accra, focused on scaling up an ethical AI ecosystem in Africa. The second edition brings together more than 1,000 participants from 40 African states, including policymakers, AI researchers, startup founders, investors, and youth leaders under the theme Scaling Africa’s Ethical AI Ecosystem: Youth Empowerment, Policy, Partnerships, and Skill.

From launch to scale

The first edition of PAAIS took place in Accra in 2025 and attracted approximately 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries, with 43 speakers. A historic highlight was the announcement of the Ghana-UAE Innovation and Technology Hub: a $1 billion MoU with Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Presight AI. The second edition builds on these outcomes and focuses on concrete progress: from policy to implementation.

Four pillars, a continent

The program rests on four substantive pillars. Youth empowerment through extensive masterclasses and mentorship programs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment and the University of Ghana Digital Youth Village. Policy development through ministerial and expert roundtables on data governance, computing infrastructure, and ethical AI, with Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation as the confirmed keynote speaker. Partnership development with parties such as the Estonian Business Angels Network, Brandeis University (USA), and the Center for Global Development & Sustainability. And capacity building through training and skilling for AI professionals across the continent.

For whom?

African and international policymakers, AI researchers, startup founders, investors, venture capitalists, data scientists, youth leaders, and government professionals actively working on AI adoption and digital transformation on the African continent.
