On Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Theaterloods in Radio Kootwijk, Marianne van Wetter & Mark Simons from MyQuest will take you on a journey of discovery through inspiring forms of education. Education that makes you want to get out of bed. Education that does not result in report card grades, but in wildly enthusiastic pupils and students.

Marianne van Wetter & Mark Simons, founders of MyQuest, are traveling for 7 months with their children, aged 13, 16, and 19, visiting 7 inspiring school examples in Europe. In and around the theater hall of the beautiful Theaterloods in Radio Kootwijk, they take educational innovators and policymakers on a ‘journey’. So that you can experience that things really can be different. This includes the premiere of the documentary about the journey and the experiential workshops (PDF) led by school leaders from Europe.
Who is Difference Makers in Education 2026 for?
Are you a teacher, policymaker, principal, career guidance officer, or care coordinator? Then you probably recognize this:
- Students who sit in class distracted or unmotivated.
- Young people who primarily learn what they need to be able to do, not who they are.
- Pressure over growth. Performance over pleasure.

At the Difference Makers in Education event, they show you and let you experience how things can be done differently: where education has inner development as its foundation, where young people’s eyes sparkle, and where the system serves the purpose.
During the event, they will guide you through effective, inspiring forms of education applicable in the Netherlands, and we hope to inspire you to remove the flaws from the current education system.

The event is also for young people who want education to make a difference. Young people up to and including 24 years old can attend the event for the reduced price of €25.
