NKO-congres 2026 – Van inzicht naar impact

The NKO Congress is the annual national professional congress for everyone working on the quality of Dutch education. Organized by the National Institute for Education (NKO), it brings together education professionals, researchers, and policymakers around evidence-informed knowledge that is directly applicable in the classroom or at school.

Knowledge from research, applicable in practice

The National Institute for Educational Knowledge (NKO) has the mission to strengthen education with knowledge from research. The NKO identifies issues, signals trends, stimulates innovation, and makes research knowledge accessible and usable for practice. The annual NKO Congress is the most visible expression of that mission: a day where science, practice, and policy meet and learn from each other. The congress builds on a tradition of inspiring editions, with a unique atmosphere and approach that draws participants back.

From insight to impact

The theme for 2026 is “From Insight to Impact,” a theme that calls for more than just gathering knowledge. How do you ensure that research insights actually land in the classroom, at school, or in policy? All sessions are evidence-informed and led by researchers and practitioners. Participants will actively engage with the content, ensuring the knowledge is immediately applicable to their own educational practice. The program consists of a plenary opening, followed by multiple rounds of optional sessions. In addition to the content-focused sessions, there is ample opportunity for meeting, exchanging knowledge, and networking with colleagues from other schools and institutions.

The conference is aimed at everyone involved in the quality of Dutch education: teachers, school leaders, internal supervisors, educational support staff, researchers, policy officers, and advisors in primary, secondary, vocational, and higher education.
