Congres De Informatiegestuurde Overheid 2026 – Wie bestuurt de AI-gedreven overheid?

  • wo 30 september 2026, 09:00 – 17:00
Van der Valk Hotel Vianen, Vianen

The Information-Driven Government conference is the annual professional event for data professionals, information managers, and policymakers in the public sector, organized by Heliview. The 2026 edition focuses on AI in government: who maintains control, who bears responsibility, and how do we safeguard the human dimension in an increasingly automated public sector?

More than ten years of information-driven working in the public sector

The Information-Driven Government is a conference series that has been bringing together public sector professionals around data, information, and digital transformation for over ten years. Heliview organized the first editions under the name The Information-Driven Government, which was later also known as Data & AI in Government. The conference focuses not only on technology, but specifically on the combination of people, processes, information, and organizational culture needed to make information-driven working successful.

The central debate of 2026: who governs the AI-driven government?

AI has become indispensable in the public sector and will increasingly influence policy, implementation, supervision, and education in the coming years. This raises fundamental questions: is this a development to look forward to? How is the government organizing itself for this? And who will be in charge? During a special panel discussion, moderator Christian Verhagen (advisor on AI & data in the public sector) and four experts will discuss this. Joining the table are Boudewijn Raessens (Fontys University of Applied Sciences), Maarten Toet (UWV), Ronald Slender (Municipality of Hellendoorn), and a representative of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Not a hype, but a sharp discussion about control, responsibility, and the human dimension.

For whom?

The conference is aimed at information managers, IT managers, policy advisors, data and AI professionals, project managers, and program managers working at municipalities, provinces, the central government, implementing organizations, and other public institutions.
