The National Works Council Day 2026, a conference in Wageningen, offers works councils the opportunity to strengthen their participation. Learn how to achieve sustainable impact, strengthen your position, and help determine the course of your organization. The event focuses on the theme of sustainable growth and the impact of the works council.
Create your own program
The National Works Council Day revolves around the role of the Works Council in a time of change and challenges. The Works Council is the one that builds connections, amplifies the voice of the constituency, and exerts influence on the direction of the organization. The day begins with a plenary opening by the chair, followed by an inspiring keynote. Subsequently, participants choose from three session rounds, each consisting of six workshops or roundtables, allowing everyone to create a program that aligns with their own learning needs.
Sports, current legislation and Works Council skills
Keynote speaker Gregory Sedoc, three-time Olympian and European champion in the 60-meter hurdles, takes Works Council members into the world of elite sports and translates this to the workplace: how do you deal with pressure, make conscious choices, and continue building sustainable performance? The workshops cover current themes such as AI in the organization, the new Wage Transparency Act taking effect on January 1, 2027, the strengthened role of the Works Council regarding working conditions since the updated Working Conditions Act, sustainable employability, pension transition, workplace burnout, and collaboration within the Works Council team. The day concludes with a visual retrospective by cartoonist Gideon Borman and a networking reception.
