ISADE is the leading scientific conference for forensic and safety applications of the chemical sciences and related fields, and takes place from 13 to 18 September 2026 on the SS Rotterdam.
ISADE brings together scientists, policymakers, and emergency responders from government, law enforcement, defense, academia, and industry. They collaborate in the fields of forensic investigation, characterization, attribution, and detection to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the field of explosives detection.
What is ISADE?
ISADE is the premier scientific gathering for forensic and safety applications within the chemical sciences and related fields, and has taken place every three years since the first ISADE Symposium in 1983. The ISADE Symposium program includes expert assessments of the technical response to recent global events and identified scientific challenges. State-of-the-art analytical and forensic techniques are presented, as well as the characterization of new materials. Developments in trace particle, vapor, and canine detection are also covered.
The host of ISADE is Scientific Workshops, a non-profit organization with U.S. 501(c)(3) status. Please note: Scientific Workshops does not organize Trace Explosives & Drug Detection Workshops (TEDD) in the years that the ISADE Symposium is held. These workshops bring together the pre- and post-detection communities in the broader field of explosives detection.
