The International Conference on Urban Health is the annual world congress on the relationship between cities and health. The 23rd edition is taking place in the Netherlands for the first time, in Utrecht. Researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals and city administrators will work together there to find solutions for health issues in cities.
The world congress for urban health
The icuh is organised by the International Society for Urban Health (isuh) and is the only annual world congress that focuses entirely on cities and health. Every year it is in a different region of the world, so that local issues and innovations receive international attention.
Many themes, many disciplines
The programme covers health inequalities, healthy living environments, climate change, mental health and social justice. Participants come from diverse disciplines, such as public health, medicine, urban planning, architecture, environmental science, economics and law. Afterwards, an abstract book and conference reports will be published.
Utrecht as host
Participants will get to know the Utrecht approach to urban health, the Utrecht Science Park and the strong Life Sciences and Health sector. Utrecht was awarded the congress after a joint bid by the municipality, Utrecht & Partners, Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs and knowledge institutions. The congress fits with the positioning Utrecht, Heart of Health.
