The Gastvrij Gelderland Network Day is the annual networking afternoon for the Gelderland recreation and tourism sector, organized by Gastvrij Gelderland at the Provincial House in Arnhem. Entrepreneurs, administrators, municipalities, educational institutions, and organizations come together for inspiration, collaboration, and the presentation of the new Gastvrij Gelderland Impact Awards.
A sector that united
Gastvrij Gelderland was created when HISWA-RECRON, Toerisme Veluwe Arnhem Nijmegen, Stichting Achterhoek Toerisme, RBT Rivierenland, and Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN) joined forces to work together for the Gelderland tourism sector. Together, these organizations represent more than a thousand businesses. The sector is of great significance to the province: in 2024, over five million guests stayed at least one night in Gelderland, accounting for nearly sixteen million overnight stays, and the sector provides employment for over 72,000 people.
Meeting, knowledge and looking ahead
During the networking day, professionals from the recreation and tourism sector meet, share knowledge, and look ahead to the opportunities and challenges for the coming years. The afternoon is hosted by Thomas van Groningen and, in addition to inspiring stories and networking opportunities, offers special attention to the brand-new Gastvrij Gelderland Impact Awards. In their very first edition, these awards put entrepreneurs, municipalities, and organizations in the spotlight that make a valuable contribution to a strong hospitality sector through innovation, collaboration, or sustainability. There are two categories: the Municipality Impact Award for municipalities that demonstrably contribute to the sector through policy, collaboration, and implementation, and the Enterprise Impact Award for companies that excel in innovative entrepreneurship, sustainability, and social engagement.
