The TourMIS Users’ Workshop & International Seminar is the annual international conference for tourism professionals and researchers. Participants learn to work with TourMIS, the leading European tourism information system, and exchange knowledge on impact models for destination management and sustainable tourism strategy.

About the organization

The event is jointly organized by the European Travel Commission (ETC), City Destinations Alliance (CityDNA), Modul University Vienna, and the Network of European Regions for Competitive and Sustainable Tourism (NECSTouR). TourMIS, founded by Professor Karl Wöber, has been the leading information system for tourism benchmarking in Europe for over 25 years. The previous edition attracted nearly 100 participants from 26 countries.

Program and content

The first day is a practical workshop led by Professor Karl Wöber, founder of TourMIS. Participants will learn how to enter tourism statistics and use benchmarking tools to produce valuable market research reports. The second day is an international seminar, led by the ETC, focusing on the adoption of impact models by national and regional tourism organizations (NTOs and DMOs). The seminar explores which impacts are central, how they are measured, and how the outcomes contribute to strategic decision-making for balanced and sustainable tourism development. Both days are designed for active exchange and collaboration.

Who is the event for?

The event is intended for tourism managers and policymakers at city, regional, national, and international organizations, academics and researchers in the field of tourism and hospitality, data analysts, marketing professionals, and consultants.
