12th International Conference on Cholesteatoma and Ear Surgery (CHOLE 2027)

CHOLE is the leading international scientific congress on cholesteatoma and ear surgery, held every three to four years and with a history spanning over forty years. This fourth-year event in Rotterdam brings together ENT specialists, otosurgeons, neurotologists, scientists, and clinical specialists from around the world for lectures, surgical techniques, case presentations, and research findings in cholesteatoma, middle ear, and inner ear surgery. The 2027 edition will be the twelfth of its kind.

More than forty years of international congress for ear surgery

The International Conference on Cholesteatoma and Ear Surgery (CHOLE) has been the leading global platform for clinical exchange on cholesteatoma and related ear disorders for over forty years, since its inaugural edition. The conference brings together prominent experts—from basic scientists and clinical specialists to surgeons and researchers—to share insights on clinical data, surgical techniques, treatment experiences, and research findings. Previous editions have been held in Edinburgh, Houston, Tokyo, Sydney, Shanghai, and Milan, among other cities. The 12th edition in 2027 will be hosted in Rotterdam, thanks in part to the strong local expertise in otology and ENT surgery at Erasmus MC.

Program and themes

The program covers the full spectrum of cholesteatoma and ear surgery, including clinical diagnosis and staging, surgical techniques in middle ear surgery (including tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy), recurrence prevention, innovative imaging techniques, cochlear implantology, ossicular surgery and reconstruction, as well as basic scientific developments in ear physiology and pathology. The scientific program includes plenary lectures, abstract presentations (oral and poster), and interactive workshop sessions.
