The Global Shrimp Forum is the leading international trade forum for the global shrimp industry. The fifth edition, held at the Van der Valk Hotel in Utrecht, the Netherlands, brings together approximately 550 industry leaders and experts representing the entire shrimp value chain—from farmers and processors to retailers, investors, and suppliers worldwide.
The global meeting point for the shrimp industry
The Global Shrimp Forum (GSF) is the international strategic trade forum dedicated entirely to the global shrimp industry. The forum was established to bring together the entire shrimp value chain: producers, traders, processors, retail buyers, investors, technology providers, and NGOs. Previous editions attracted hundreds of participants from dozens of countries; the 2024 edition in Indonesia brought together 518 delegates from 320 organizations and 41 countries. The fifth edition in 2026 will return to its home base in Utrecht.
Program and content
The three-day program includes keynote lectures by top executives, thematic seminars, plenary sessions, and an extensive social program. Regular themes include market developments and price dynamics, sustainable production and certification, new technologies in aquaculture, geopolitical trade flows, and the future of shrimp production in producing countries such as Ecuador, Vietnam, India, and China. Speakers represent leading companies such as Thai Union, BioMar, Charoen Pokphand Foods, Nutreco, Cargill, and Rabobank. The GSF also publishes research reports on market developments, consumer behavior, and sustainability.
Who is the Global Shrimp Forum for?
The forum is aimed at directors and decision-makers in the international shrimp trade and production, buyers in retail and foodservice, investors and financial institutions, technology suppliers and feed manufacturers, and policymakers and sustainability experts active in the aquaculture sector.
