The twentieth biennial congress of the European Association for Research on Adolescence (EARA) will take place at Utrecht Science Park. Under the theme “Dynamics of Youth,” EARA2026 brings together researchers, practitioners, and young scientists for keynote lectures, invited symposia, workshops, and a social program focused on youth development.
The European Scientific Congress of Adolescent Psychology and Research
The European Association for Research on Adolescence (EARA) is the European scientific association that unites researchers and practitioners in the field of adolescent development. The biennial EARA conference is the central international platform for the exchange of new scientific research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and networking in this field. The twentieth edition is organized by Utrecht University in close collaboration with the university’s strategic research theme “Dynamics of Youth,” in which researchers from various disciplines collaborate on questions for future generations.
Theme and program
The conference theme is “Dynamics of Youth”—a theme that reflects the dynamic, changing nature of adolescence as a life stage and emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration. The program includes keynote lectures by leading international researchers, invited symposia, pre-conference workshops (August 18), and a Practitioners’ Day for professionals from the field. In addition to the academic program, EARA2026 offers an extensive social program with a conference dinner, excursions throughout Utrecht, and specific activities for early-career researchers.
Who is EARA2026 for?
The conference is aimed at scientists, researchers, and students working in the field of adolescent development—including psychologists, educators, sociologists, and neuroscientists—as well as practitioners and professionals working in youth care, education, and youth policy. Travel grants are available for participants who require financial support.
